Create a folder background in Windows XP

Using this trick, you can make an image to be shown in the background of your desired folder.


Steps:

1. Open My Computer. From Tools menu, select Folder Options.
Go to View tab and make the settings as highlighted below.



(if you cant see the image above, please leave a comment)

2. Click OK to close Folder Options window.

3. Get to the folder for which you want show a background image.

4. If you can see a file Desktop.ini, double click open it.
If you cant see such a file, create a text document (right click > New > Text Document).
Rename it to Desktop.ini .
Make sure that you have been asked for confirmation for changing the extension.
Now open that Desktop.ini.

5. If you have opened an existing Desktop.inni file, add the following text to the last line.
If you have created a new Desktop.ini and opened it, just type (or copy and paste) the following.

IconArea_Image=C:\MyPic.jpg

where C:\MyPic.jpg is the path of your selected image.

6. Select File > Save.

7. Now close the file.

8. Refresh your folder, you can see the image.

9. Roll back the changes made in Folder Options to protect the system files.
